Audio integration for testing

Hello everyone!

I would like to get your opinions and ideas for integrating audio into the APD test software. Adding the audio files for individual tests directly as embedded files in the software would be difficult because of licensing issues. We would first have to negotiate agreements with the authorized providers for the test audio, which would also likely limit the scope of use for those audio files.

An alternate way would be to allow users to set the location of audio files for each test under the Settings menu. For example, to run the SSW test, you can select the corresponding audio file that you have in a folder, i.e. C:\Users\Username\Documents\APD Testing Audio Files \SSW Test Audio.mp3 (or something like that). Users can then play the test audio using Play/Pause/Stop buttons on the test screen. (please see attached schematic of how it is supposed to look like).

What do you mean by "set up the IAA configuration"? There's nothing to set up in Set List Maker to use Inter-App Audio.

Is Help > Utilities > Use Old Audio Engine turned on? That would have to be off to use this.

I think you also need to play some audio in order for other software to see the audio source.

Could advancements in APD Test Software potentially uncover non-audiological conditions or cognitive anomalies, thereby shifting the traditional boundaries of audiology practice?
