Help with MikTex

Post by cpickup »

Hello!
I am having issues with downloading and installing the MikTex software so I can access results. Lalsa tried to help me last week, but it wasn't working from the download site; now I can download, but it won't install, and I can't uninstall the usual way either. I need to get this working asap.

Thank you,

Hello Chris

Do you already have a version of MiKTeX installed on your computer that you cannot get rid of? You also said that you can download but cannot install it. Can you please share the error message you get when the installer stops running/gets interrupted? It looks like you might have restrictions on installing new programs that are managed by a system administrator. If it is a personal computer and you don't have any organizational admin restrictions, I can help resolve the issue through remote access.

You can reply to this post, email me at apdtestsoftware@audiproaudiology.ca, or directly call me at 647-872-1788 to schedule a remote session.

Ongoing Issue Alert - August 12, 2022

There is a known issue with the current installer for MiKTeX, which throws an error if you select "Install for all users" (see attached image for error message details).

To resolve this issue, you can try to run the installer as administrator to be able to install it for all users. On the installer MSI file, right click and select "Run as Administrator", then press OK when prompted. You should be able to complete the installation for all users, and then install packages to print the PDF reports.

Please email apdtestsoftware@audiproaudiology.ca if this solution does not work for your installation.
